Hired Positions
There are a number of positions that are hired every fall with space reserved for first years! Application information can be found on Twitter, Facebook, or the Jobs and Applications page on the website. Below are a list of positions available for first years.
Outreach Team (OT)
The Outreach Team (OT) aims to help promote Queen’s Engineering in a positive way while giving back to the community. The Outreach Team also works with external campus groups to run joint events for all Queen’s students. Some fun events include sponsoring a kids hockey team, getting to design a float for the Santa Clause Parade and much more! For more information, please contact: [email protected].
Committee for Inclusivity (COI)
The Committee for Inclusivity explores issues of race, gender, religion, economic status, accessibility and more within the context of the Engineering Society. The committee then puts forth reports to the Engineering Society Council and Executive with action plans to tackle these issues and make Queen’s Engineering a more accepting and inclusive space for everyone. Want to make real change within the society that positively impacts all your fellow students? The the Committee for Inclusivity is right for you! IT Members
Apply to the ‘secret service’ of the Engineering Society and work with the Director of I.T. on all manner of projects under the Information Technology portfolio. Experience welcome but not necessary, you will be trained! Learn great skills to put on your resume, and enjoy challenging projects! Communications Team
The Engineering Society has a full fledged Communications Team dedicated to reaching and helping students as well as alumni. Its services are available to all engineering students and groups. It has four distinct divisions, which offer a variety of services: Photography, Videography, Graphic Design, and Internal Records. On top of all those services, collectively the divisions have rebranded student groups looking to reinvigorate their image and communications. Deputy Returning Officer
A partner in crime hired to work alongside the Chief Returning officer to ensure all aspects of the winter term EngSoc elections run smoothly. This includes enforcing election rules and regulations, reviewing and approving content, organizing the debate night, and implementing new ideas and events to improve voter turnout and participation.
